Open Public Consultation: Future development of Leitrim town

Closing Date: 12th May 2025

Leitrim County Council hereby gives notice of a public consultation regarding the development of a Town Centre First Plan for Manorhamilton. This project involves the co-design of a vision to make Manorhamilton town centre more viable, vibrant and attractive.

Application Background Pursuant to the national Town Centre First programme, a policy approach for Irish towns which aims to create town centres that function as viable, vibrant, and attractive locations, Leitrim County Council has commissioned a plan for Manorhamilton town centre. The Town Centre First process recognises that every town is unique and that they also serve a vital function as the service, social, cultural and recreational centre for the local community.

Project Details The public information and engagement stall will be located at the Manorhamilton Farmers Market, Bee Park Community Centre, on Friday 2nd May from 10am - 2pm. Working in partnership with the Manorhamilton Town Team, Leitrim County Council is inviting the views of local residents, organisations and businesses to help co-design the vision and plan.

The Town Centre First policy is supported by cross-government funding and policy actions that are focused on delivery. Key to Town Centre First are Town Teams, which comprise representatives of local residents, businesspeople, community/voluntary groups and other stakeholders who come together with the support of the Local Authority through a dedicated Town Regeneration Officer.
